Welcome to Golden Gate
The Historic Golden Gate Building in Martin County has received a new facelift. The exterior has been restored to its original appearance with the structure now in a sound condition. Our County and State, with the help of many volunteers, have invested nearly $400,000 including the purchase and in bringing this dream to fruition.
The Historic Golden Gate Building has been returned from its condition of near collapse to the point where it has become an official Historic site, a beacon of hope, not just to the Historic Golden Gate Community and its business corridor, but to everyone who resides in Martin County. This Historic Building, once abandoned site, now stands in defiance to community decay. Now, through the efforts of many, it has become a model and an inspiration, bringing renewed respect to those of us who live in The Historic Golden Gate Community. Purpose and Use for the Building
"The restored Historic Golden Gate Building will be a public building not only for the Golden Gate Neighborhood, but for all of Martin County. The interior will reflect the character of the 1925 interior of the real estate and land development office, and will meet all Florida Green Building Standards. This landmark will provide a safe place for community activities, and is planned to house a satellite library that will provide bi-lingual children’s books, parenting education, and computer access." - Edward W.
